YOGA

I try not to get too personal, but today I had an amazing yoga practice with my teacher Jodi at Radiance Yoga.  So in lieu of the weekend starting where everyone is busy running errands, cleaning house or spending time with friends, I thought I would talk about something that I make the time for.....ME!  I hope everyone can make a little time for themselves this weekend!  Happy Weekend Friends!

It wasn't until a year ago that I took the plunge and decided to bring yoga into my life.  If I knew then what I know now I would have started a lot sooner.  My yoga practice came at a time when something in my life needed to change.  I was tired, stressed out, and emotionally drained.  I was bored with my usual workouts and needed something that would help me stay grounded and bring down my stress from work.  You know for anyone who doesn't practice yoga it seems like something so easy to do.  You are a fool!  I physically have never felt so challenged.  How little did I know that I could become so strong from stretching.  My arms are leaner, my legs are stronger (and look great as my husband says) and some how I feel taller!  I even lost ten pounds without trying....what is not to like about that?

My yoga practice is very sacred and special to me.  I crave that time when nothing else matters and the only thing that exists for that hour or two is me.  I tune out the world and do not think about anything.  I love the times when I devote my practice to someone, like today I devoted my practice to my sister.  Never have I been at a place where I feel like nothing else matters, everyone is nice, and no one is judging anyone.

I could go on and on but I will leave with this, I hope everyone can find a little time to do something they love, either alone or with someone they care for.....Namaste!
